Ambassador Bridge Donates Joe Louis Arena Suite To Benefit Detroit Cristo Rey High School

DETROIT – Some young fans will have a fantastic view for cheering on the Detroit Red Wings and stars Nicklas Lidstrom, Pavel Datsyuk, and Henrik Zetterberg when the puck drops Sunday, April 3, at Joe Louis Arena.  They will be watching from the suite of the Ambassador Bridge Company.

The Ambassador Bridge Company regularly donates its suite to worthwhile causes throughout the NHL season.  For Sunday’s game with the Minnesota Wild, it was donated to benefit Detroit Cristo Rey High School.

This is the second year that the Ambassador Bridge Company donated the suite to benefit Detroit Cristo Rey High School.  The Catholic Central Dad’s Club purchased the suite this year. More than $5,000 in proceeds will help Detroit Cristo Rey’s unique religious-based co-op education program.

“It’s a great opportunity for people to have fun, learn about our school and support our students,” said Detroit Cristo Rey President Michael Khoury.  “We have a good relationship with the Ambassador Bridge Company and we’re very grateful for the support that we’ve received.”

Khoury will have an opportunity to speak to the crowd during one of the game’s intermissions and share the mission of Detroit Cristo Rey High School.

Detroit Cristo Rey High School students spend four days each week in the classroom and take advantage of extracurricular opportunities throughout Detroit.  The Corporate Work Study Program complements the school’s academic program with one day per week of real-life work experience.

“The Ambassador Bridge Company and Detroit Cristo Rey High School have an ongoing partnership that we’ve found to be mutually beneficial,” said Dan Stamper, president of the Ambassador Bridge Company. “Eight of their students are employed at affiliate companies to support the Detroit Cristo Rey work-study program.  It has been a win-win for the students and for our companies.”
