| Governor Snyder to Provide Outlook for Michigan’s Transformation at MACPA Members Advisory Symposium |

Local and national speakers to address key economic, tax and regulatory policy issues WHAT: The Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) will host its 2011 Spring Members Advisory Symposium on Thursday, May 12, at the Lansing Center. Michigan's first CPA governor, the Honorable Rick Snyder, CPA, will serve as the keynote speaker during the event's luncheon. During his presentation, Michigan's Reinvention Roadmap, he will share his outlook for Michigan's transformation, including ideas to bring the state back to the national forefront. Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), one of the leading authorities on issues impacting the profession, will open the Symposium with an overview of the key forces driving change for the accounting industry. In New Directions for a Renewed Profession, he also will address key AICPA initiatives focused on supporting members in the changing profession. In The Commission on Accounting Higher Education: Pathways to a Profession, Leslie A. Murphy, president and CEO of Murphy Consulting in Bloomfield Hills, will address the rise in student interest in the accounting profession. Murphy is a member of the Pathways Commission, formed by the AICPA and the American Accounting Association, which was formed to identify, explore and establish a national higher education strategy for the profession. She will share updates on the Commission and solicit feedback from attendees. A Michigan Legislative Update will be provided by Bill Wortz, partner, Public Affairs Associates, Inc. in Lansing, public policy advisor of the MACPA. He will give an update on legislative and political issues affecting the profession. Finally, MACPA President and CEO Peggy Dzierzawski, CAE will discuss how CPAs are making a difference in the state's turnaround in Moving Michigan Forward.
