New Verizon Wireless cell site in Grand Rapids, Michigan means clearer reception and fewer dropped calls. GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.—Verizon Wireless has activated a new cell site in Grand Rapids, Mich., which enables more customers to use their wireless phones to make calls; send and receive e-mail and text, picture and video messages; access the Internet; view high-quality videos; and download apps, music, games and ringtones, while enjoying clearer reception and fewer dropped calls.
The new cell site,
which is equipped with a permanent backup generator for times of emergency, improves voice and data
coverage along the following major roads: · Beltline Avenue between 3 Mile Road to the north and Leonard Street to the south, and; · Knapp Street between Interstate 96 to the west and Maguire Avenue to the east. “As our customers continue relying on their wireless devices even more for everything from making calls and sending messages to surfing the Internet and getting email, we closely analyze their usage and make improvements accordingly,” said David MacBeth, Executive Director–Network, Michigan/Indiana/Kentucky Region, Verizon Wireless. “The most advanced device is only as good as the network it runs on. That’s why we aggressively invest in our Michigan network to increase coverage and capacity for our customers and continue to raise the bar in network reliability.” Verizon Wireless has invested more than $60 billion since it was formed—$5.7 billion on average every year—to increase the coverage and capacity of its premier nationwide network and to add new services.
