Austin, Texas, March 18, 2011 — Austin, Texas-based Santanna Energy Services — a leading energy marketing company serving commercial, industrial, institutional and residential customers in Illinois and Michigan— announced that its customer base exceeded 63,000 in 2010.
Santanna initiated and has continued aggressive and successful marketing programs to its gas customers since January 2007, when it started from a base of about 24,500 customers. In December 2010, Santanna reached a corporate high send-out of nearly 15 million therms of natural gas. This volume quickly was exceeded in January 2011 with a therm send-out of 16.5 million. In comparison, the highest one-month send out in 2007 was 9 million therms. Santanna’s annual volume send-out in 2007 was 75 million therms. That increased to 83 million therms in 2008, followed by 88 million therms in 2009 and a total send-out of 119 million therms in 2010. This represents nearly a 59 percent increase in-send out over the three-year period. Santanna employs more than 60 full- and part-time staff members in the various communities it serves.
