South University dedicates newest campus in Novi, Michigan

(NOVI, Mich. – March 2, 2011) Today South University Chancellor John T. South, III, and President William Bradford were joined by State Senator Mike Kowall, 15th District, and distinguished community leaders at a formal dedication ceremony of the Novi campus. Campus faculty, city officials and business leaders from across metropolitan Detroit took tours of the campus and attended a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“South University has a long history of providing higher education opportunities in areas of study that help students gain the professional skills they need to enter or advance their careers,” said South. “Our Novi campus opened its doors to students in October and is already making a meaningful difference in the lives of our students, who upon graduation will have the credentials and experience to pursue employment opportunities throughout Michigan.”

South University’s Novi campus offers bachelor’s degree programs in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Healthcare Management and graduate programs including a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling and a Master of Business Administration. The 37,000-square-foot campus is located at 41555 Twelve Mile Road and Meadowbrook Road.

As the educational needs of the workforce have changed, South University has expanded its curriculum offerings to include courses taught in its Distance-Learning Classroom. South University uses cameras, microphones and digital screens to take teleconferencing to a visual and interactive level. Students and faculty can attend classes in one classroom and be engaged with students and faculty in classrooms hundreds or even thousands of miles away. The technology allows South University students to benefit from resources and expertise across the university system.

“South University has a tradition of creating supportive campus cultures, where students are known by name and where all of the faculty and staff are personally committed to helping students become successful graduates. We are proud to continue this tradition in Novi,” said Bradford.

The Novi campus of South University offers the following degree programs: Business Administration (BBA), Criminal Justice (BS), Healthcare Management (BS), Psychology (BA), Business Administration (MBA) and Professional Counseling (MA).
