SUMMIT SPORTS INC. LAUNCHES TOWABLETUBES.COM AND WETSUITS.NET FOR THE 2011 WATER SPORTS SEASON

BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. Summit Sports Inc. today announced the company has launched two new websites, TowableTubes.com and WetSuits.net in time for the 2011 water sports season.

Offering the top brands, TowableTubes.com was created specifically for those who enjoy tubing.  The site features a massive selection of tubes that are pulled behind a boat and can accommodate one to four people.  Tubes have become very high tech these days, including tubes you can steer, tubes that can do tricks and tubes that can be ridden in a variety of different ways and positions.

On the site, customers are able to search tubes by brand, price, color, size and model year.  Additionally, they can view items featured in a clearance center, which are priced up to 25 percent off.

“Towable tubes are more fun than a barrel of monkeys,” said Steve Kopitz, owner and founder of Summit Sports Inc.  “Tubes have become more popular because everybody can use them.  These are not the tubes your Dad once had.”

Everyone will have the opportunity to find a wetsuit that fits his or her needs on WetSuits.net. Suits for men, women and children include springsuits, fullsuits and rashguards.  Other featured items include jackets, tops, gloves and boots. The site also will offer a clearance store and free shipping.

“Summit Sports has experienced a steady demand for wetsuits over the past several years,” added Kopitz.  “We find that people are looking to extend their season in the water into the fall and the suits help keep them warm.  This new site is a logical extension of our Summit brand.”

The e-commerce sites offer visitors an experience specific to their sport and join the family of Summit Sports’ websites including SummitOnline.com, Skis.com, InlineSkates.net, TheDailySteal.com, WaterOutfitters.com, SkateAgressive.com, SnowBoards.net, RollerSkates.net, Hockey.us, Water-Trampoline.com and SummitKayakDemos.com.

The company’s websites have been recognized nationally.  In 2009, Skis.com was named to the 2009 Internet Retailer Hot 100. The annual list highlights innovative websites taking a leadership role in the development of e-commerce by reaching beyond the primary website to engage and inform web shoppers.

With physical multi-category sporting goods shops in Brighton, Keego Harbor, Lansing, and Rochester, Mich., Summit Sports also operates Don Thomas Sporthaus, a dedicated ski shop, in Birmingham, Michigan.
