Walmart Foundation has donated a traditional barber chair to Grace Centers of Hope, Oakland County’s largest homeless shelter. The chair will was officially installed on April 6 at Grace Centers of Hope in Pontiac.

There to present the barber chair and observe the first haircut was Lindsay Huddleston, senior manager, public affairs and government relations for Walmart. Receiving thmarx_layne_.pnge donation was Pastor Kent W. Clark, CEO of Grace Centers of Hope. The barber chair will assist the individuals who come to Grace Centers for shelter and programming.

The hairdresser is Andre, who is participating in Grace Centers’ ‘Men on a Mission’ program and currently is enrolled in school to become a hairdresser. He is gaining hands-on experience by cutting the hair of men in the Men on a Mission program.

Grace Centers of Hope is the largest and oldest faith-based outreach organization to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families in Southeast Michigan. It provides a full recovery and rehabilitation campus for homeless men, women and children who have been abused or addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.
