Project Description

Bacco Ristorante

portfolio_4nMetro Detroit’s premiere fine dining establishment first opened it doors in 2002 and soon established itself as the destination for both business power lunches and extraordinary dinners.

An industry leader, Bacco was the first restaurant in metro Detroit to ban smoking throughout the entire establishment and to reduce portion sizes during the Great Recession to make its dishes more affordable and accessible to its loyal patrons.

In 2013, after several iterations of its website, Bacco retained Marx Layne & Company to bring its online experience in line with the same high quality and standards of its brick and mortar restaurant. Marx Layne prides itself on creating compelling content to fit our stunning graphic design capabilities, as beautiful design has always been part of our DNA. We translate that great respect for attractive design into our web, social media, print, photography and video production.

Having a strong Internet presence can broaden the patron base and frequency of diners. There were several elements that needed to be ‘pulled together’ to create greater synergy of the website including stunning video, engaging social media, and the rapid assent of mobile media usage as dining decisions are often impulsive.
Marx Layne drafted copy, shot gorgeous still images and video, set up and populated Facebook, Youtube channel and other social media sites for Bacco, as well as programmed with Open Table for online reservations. Marx Layne created “wow” still images of dishes, the kitchen, the many public and private dining areas of the restaurant and then merged all of this into a website that was as informative, graphically pleasing, and easy to use on a desktop as it is on a mobile device.
The client sought a turn-key web and social media strategy that was developed and populated by Marx Layne, yet easily managed by the Bacco team going forward — from quickly updating the menu to posting social media content.
Marx Layne delivered a website to increase sales of its restaurant, off-site catering, and retail wines.

Its online cooking classes have generated more than 6,000 views and the website easily facilitates reservations, keeping Bacco busy during the weekday for lunch and dinner as well as for its weekend dining.

Bacco Ristorante now has a website, created in WordPress, and social media sites that is managed easily by its team.

Bacco restaurant received from Marx Layne, in quick order and within budget, a stunning web and social media presence that significantly enhances their bottom line.

Whether online or in print, service doesn’t have to cost more to be beautiful. We bring a high degree of design sophistication found at boutique firms in New York, San Francisco and Seattle here in Detroit, but without the shocking price tag.

Designing a great website requires more than top-notch computer programing. While we understand the backend of web design and how to optimize content, we believe computer programing needs to seamlessly merge with clean graphics, compelling copy, striking photography and captivating video to draw viewers into the brand
