Faygo‘s “epic” new collaboration might just be one of the coolest sweet summer treats, at least according to those who’ve tried it.
The iconic soft drink brand had a handful of its most popular soda flavors reimagined as “bold” new frozen treats thanks to its new partnership with another Michigan-based company. And don’t worry if you don’t live in the area, the small-batch shop behind the creations, Browndog Creamery, ships nationwide.
Browndog Creamery’s new flavors–Unicorn Swirl, Faygo Choc & Rye, Faygo Root Beer Float, Faygo Firework, and Faygo Groovy Grape–were only released a few days ago, but many are already getting rave reviews.
Browndog Creamery’s Faygo Unicorn Swirl is touted as the perfect treat to “satisfy your sweet tooth” and “uniquely delicious.” It features a Faygo Cotton Candy-flavored ice cream base swirled with pink marshmallow creme. One reviewer described it as “Bold, bright, and not even pretending to be subtle,” suggesting consumers pair it with “Rainbow sprinkles and zero regrets.”
Other fans agreed it “tastes just like the pop,” but also reminded them of the cotton candy-flavored Dippin’ Dots or Dum Dums lollipops.
The Choc & Rye variety is made with Faygo Rock & Rye-flavored ice cream (like cream soda but “with a cherry twist”), ribbons of chocolate fudge and chunks of housemade brownies. “It’s bold, smooth, and deeply nostalgic,” one taste-tester applauded, adding that it had the “unmistakable Rock & Rye sweetness layered perfectly under the chocolate richness.”
A few other reviewers said it was undeniable that the treat was made with Rock & Rye, noting it was “creamier” than they expected.
Browndog Creamery’s Faygo Root Beer Float-flavored ice cream is also a homerun with those who’ve tried it: “It tastes like root beer [soda] and ice cream, that’s what a root beer float is.”
The Faygo Firework flavor is actually a sorbet, and it uses Faygo’s Firework soda (cherry, lime, and blue raspberry flavors) and fresh strawberries for a truly “refreshing” treat.
Last, but certainly not least, is the Groovy Grape ice cream. Described as “the flavor combination you didn’t know you needed,” it takes vanilla sandwich cookies and mashes them into “a Concord concoction of Faygo Grape” soda.
The limited-edition flavor collab, which officially debuted on June 26, is currently available in scoops or pints, which can be ordered online for pickup or shipping nationwide, but only while supplies last. To find them at a store near you, try the Browndog Creamery product locator.
